General
How many cameras can I activate on one account?
You can activate as many cameras as you want on one account.
How many cameras can I run on one data plan?
A data plan is only valid for one camera at a time.
Can multiple people access the camera's images?
Any number of people can access the images, all you need to do is install the SPYPOINT app on your smartphone and log in with the camera owner’s credentials.
Do I need a separate SIM card to use the data transfer camera?
No, all SPYPOINT data transmission cameras have a pre-installed and pre-configured SIM card. This automatically dials into the strongest network at the location of the camera and that Europe-wide.
Can I use my own SIM card from another provider to transfer images?
The SPYPOINT data transmission cameras cannot be operated with other SIM cards (SIM-LOCK).
What happens when my photo limit is reached?
When your photo limit is reached, the camera will not transfer any more images, it will only update the status of the camera. However, it will continue to operate normally, but will only store the photos on the SD card. When your billing month is over, the photo counter will automatically reset. The billing month is not the calendar month, it depends on the day the camera is activated.
Where can I see how long my data plan will run?
In the app at “Cameras” you will find an overview of your cameras. If you then press “Plans”, you will get to an overview of the runtime.
What is the delay time?
The delay time defines the interval between two acquisitions. At 5 minutes delay time, the camera is inactive for 5 minutes after an acquisition.
What does transmission frequency mean?
The transmission frequency determines how often you get your images sent to the app.
With “First transfer time” you specify the starting time for the transfers, e.g. first transfer time is 08:00: with a transfer frequency of 6/day you will receive the images 08:00, 12:00, 16:00, 20:00, 24:00 and 04:00.
The first transmission time is negligible if you have selected “every acquisition” as the transmission frequency.
Can the cameras with video function also transmit videos?
No, only images are transmitted.
What SD cards can I use the cameras?
You can use any commercially available SD card between 2GB to 32GB for your camera. Make sure you use a Class 4 or Class 10 card.
Please do not use micro SD cards with adapters, errors and malfunctions may occur here.
Can the camera be turned on and off via app?
No, that is not possible.
What is the schedule?
You can use the schedule to assign fixed working times to the camera for each day.
How long do the batteries or the rechargeable batteries last?
The average runtime of the camera depends on many factors:
- Signal strength
- Transmission frequency
- Proportion of day/night images
- Schedule
- Power source (battery, rechargeable battery, 12V battery)
- Type of acquisition (photo/video)
Unfortunately, a blanket statement is not possible.
What is the angle of coverage of the cameras?
42,2°

Technical problems
My camera does not turn on
Insert a fresh set of new batteries into the camera. (Please always replace all batteries, not just individual ones).
Make sure you do not use NiMh rechargeable batteries (AA), as they can only supply 1.2V. Alkaline batteries provide 1.5V.
If you can, measure the voltage of your batteries with a voltmeter. Above 1.35V per battery is good.
Make sure the battery contacts are touching properly. If not, carefully bend the contacts to restore contact.
